In this subject it is to differentiate between the integration of hybrid sensors and their computer-assisted interfacing on the one hand and concrete self-developments on the other hand. Both aspects tie in with the longstanding tradition of precision metrology techniques and metrology systems of geodesy and measuring as well as the experimental work of IBK, IBWK, IGT and IHW/VAW of the ETHZ.
In the information chain of the data acquisition, processing, analysis up to the representation, the unifying of highly developed sensors play a central role. In the near future aerial photos will be generated by digital cameras. Laserscan data and ultrahigh-resolving satellite sensors are essential data sources for this. The new sensors and their integration as well as the large quantity of data require the development of functional and stochastic sensor models and automatic evaluation algorithms. Systems and procedures that produce pictures are located more and more in the centre of the interest.
The concrete self-development of High Tech measuring systems in D-BAUG is considered a basic research. Prototypes are developed, which bear up against the functions of the new developed metrology technique and methodology but also prototypes which reach up to the activity suitability in the field.
Key aspects are high technology developments in the industrial metrology technique as well as in the environmental and geological dynamic.
