D-BAUG is committed to fostering the careers of students and employees at all levels; to creating family-friendly and barrier-free structures; and to practising considerate and respectful interaction.

What began in 2004 with the Executive Board’s “Gender Action Plan”, the goal of which was primarily to increase the number of women pursuing scientific careers, has now developed into the broader area of “Gender & Diversity”.

In internal workshops D-BAUG has added to the original four themes of the Gender Action Plan (career and career development in academia; integration of gender-specific aspects in research and teaching; promoting the compatibility of career and family; prevention and combat of sexual harassment and gender discrimination). D-BAUG is now active in five areas which markedly transcend the focus on gender.
