From Legos to earthquake mitigation

Horia Curtu

My name is Horia and I come from Transylvania, Romania – no worries, I am not a vampire. While growing up, I have always enjoyed playing with Legos or building castles out of wooden bricks, so it comes as no surprise that I have chosen to study civil engineering. Fascinated by the top-notch Swiss infrastructure, I have decided to pursue my bachelor’s degree at ETH, as I have considered to have a lot of knowledge to gain from the Swiss.

Aside from my studies, I have gotten involved in the Erasmus Student Network in Zurich. I love exploring beautiful Switzerland with the exchange students and sharing with them what I have learned about Swiss culture so far.

After finishing my studies, I hope to contribute to the research of earthquake mitigation methods on buildings.
