Karl-Kraus young talent prize

Corinne Stucker won this prestigious award with her bachelor’s dissertation on the subject of ‘Classification of vegetation in a laserscan point cloud’ (supervisors: J.D. Wegner, K. Schindler/Institute for Geodesic Engineering + Photogrammetry).

The Karl Kraus sponsorship prize is awarded annually jointly by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Photogrammetrie, Fernerkundung und Geoinformation (DGPF – the German Association for Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Geoinformation), the Österreichische Gesellschaft für Vermessung und Geoinformation (OVG – the Austrian Association for Surveys and Geographic Information) and the Schweizerische Gesellschaft für Photogrammetrie und Fernerkundung (SGPF – the Swiss Association for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing). The sponsorship award is intended to commend and provide financial reward for outstanding bachelor’s, master’s and diploma dissertations and theses, and make them available to a wider public.

The prize money is EUR 1,500. This was the first time that a student from ETH Zurich has secured first prize in the Karl Kraus sponsorship award. Due to her outstanding work, Corinne Stucker, in addition to the prize, was also awarded a scholarship for excellence, for her master’s studies at ETH Zurich.
