Prof. Dr. Roman Stocker appointed Professor of Groundwater and Hydromechanics

Prof. Dr. Roman Stocker (*1975), currently associate professor with Tenure Track at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, USA, has been appointed by the ETH Board as Professor of Groundwater and Hydromechanics.

Prof. Dr. Roman Stocker (*1975), currently associate professor with Tenure Track at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, USA, has been appointed full professor of Groundwater and Hydromechanics by the ETH Board. Roman Stocker has excellent contacts internationally and is considered to be an expert in environmental fluid mechanics. His interdisciplinary research is concerned with the links between hydromechanics and biological transport processes in the environment. With the innovative combination of dynamic imaging and microfluidics, he has made some highly respected findings. Roman Stocker will further strengthen the leading international position of ETH Zurich in the field of physical processes in surface and ground waters.

Roman Stocker took up his post on 1 June 2015 at the Institute for Environmental Engineering (IfU). He succeeds emeritus Professor Wolfgang Kinzelbach.
