Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing

Students acquire expertise in computational image understanding, 3D reconstruction and large-scale environment mapping. Specialising in Photogrammetry and/or Remote Sensing is best suited for students who are interested in

• image-based measurement systems (ranging from amateur cameras all the way to satellite images)

• geo-spatial computer vision, data science and machine learning

• programming, computing and large-scale data analysis

• applications in fields such as Earth observation and environmental monitoring (e.g., vegetation, agriculture, snow and ice), city modelling (e.g., mobile mapping, digital 3D twins), machine vision (e.g., robot navigation, augmented reality), etc.

A programme of study in Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing prepares students for employment in the mapping industry, the private and public environmental sector, the geo-spatial software and services industry, the energy and telecom industries, public administration and space agencies.
